Meet Maya Lewis, MPA, PHR, SHRM-CP

Maya Lewis is the creator and founder of Professional Adulting. She combines her unique perspective as a Millennial and multifaceted background in Human Resources to tackle talent engagement and retention challenges with researched-based, experience-centered solutions. Lewis is incredibly passionate about empowering Millennials and the next generation of HR professionals to change the world through their work. She has an innate ability to simplify the complex and is adept at connecting business outcomes with people strategies to deliver tangible results for companies and their employees.

 With nearly 15 years of experience, she has developed policies and programs in compensation, benefits, onboarding and engagement, training and internal communications for a variety of organizations. Lewis currently serves as a Consultant in the advisory practice at Korn Ferry, a global management consultancy firm. In her role, she focuses on rewards as a way to drive superior performance in the workplace. 

 As a dynamic speaker, Lewis has shared her expertise and HR knowledge with organizations such as the Urban League and at the Human Resources Development in the Middle East Conference in Kuwait. In 2017, Lewis published her first book, Professional Adulting, to help Millennials transition into the workforce with real-world tips, insights and career planning guidance. 

 Lewis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an Organizational Development specialization at Georgia State University. She furthered her studies at North Carolina State University, gaining a Master of Public Administration with a focus in Organizational Management. When she’s not dreaming up new ideas to create meaningful shifts in the workplace, Lewis enjoys traveling, feeding her inner foodie and spending time with family.
